10/11-10/20: South Africa Safari Adventure with Jack Witt (North Hollywood)

Kapama Game Reserve

venue: Kapama

Join me in South Africa this October 11-20, 2021 for a Safari Adventure featuring the Big 5 animals and more. We'll stay at a private game reserve lodge with a Spa. We'll also visit Cape Town, Winelands, and one of the Natural Wonders of the World - Victoria Falls.

Daily Itinerary:

October 11 / Day 1: Cape Town. Welcome to Cape Town, the Mother City of South Africa! On arrival in Cape Town we will be greeted by our local tour guide and accompanied to our hotel. In the evening we will have a welcome dinner in the famous Gold restaurant in Cape Town. (D)

October 12 / Day 2: Cape Town – Table Mountain. Today we will be enjoying one of the biggest cities of Africa. During a Day tour of Cape Town, we will get to know all the interesting facts and experience the whole variety of diversity the city has to offer. After that, ascend the Table Mountain via aerial cableway in the late afternoon to watch the stunning view as the sun sinks into the western horizon and the city lights start to sparkle. Table Mountain is South Africa’s most photographed attraction. We will get a chance also to hike on one of the trails on top of the mountain. (B)

October 13 / Day 3: Cape Town - Boulders Beach & Cape Point Nature Reserve. Today we will take a tour of the Cape Peninsula. Discover the coasts kilometers of white sandy beaches, past the fishing village of Hout Bay on Boulders Beach. A special attraction is the penguin colony living on the beach as Boulders Beach is home to a breeding colony of over 2000 endangered African Penguins. From there continue towards the nature reserve. Discover many animals, including antelopes, ostriches and baboons. Off the coast, you can see whales, dolphins and seals. Highlight of the day is the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, where we will have a stunning view of the National Park. (B)

October 14 / Day 4: Cape Winelands. Today we take a drive along the stunning Garden Route and make our way to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. We will pass through the magnificent and vast vineyard landscapes of the famous winelands. Due to the approximately 300 sunny days in the Cape Town region over 200 years ago, the Huguenots started the progress of wine making. Today wine estates in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl are world famous and their wines highly awarded. We will start off with a hike through the beautiful vineyards featuring some very nice views. The visit of a wine farm including wine tasting is a must and a feast for the senses! Our guide will be able to give us more details on the various wine farms, which can be visited. Farms such as Boschendal, Vergelegen and Morgenster are always popular, or perhaps we might even go for something different and enjoy chocolate and wine tastings at Blaauwklippen, or cheese and wine tastings at Fairview farm. (B)

October 15 / Day 5: Cape Town - Kapama Private Game Reserve. After breakfast, we will be transferred to the Cape Town International Airport for our flight (not included) to Hoedspruit Airport where we will be met by our ranger and transferred to Kapama Private Game Reserve near the Kruger National Park. Kapama Game Reserve is an untamed garden of Eden where the spoor of wildlife invites us to explore the timeless beauty of the bush; an oasis of unimaginable luxury provides the greatest vantage point to the Big Five and its vast, untouched wilderness. (B,L,D)

October 16 & 17 / Days 6 & 7: Kapama Private Game Reserve. Today we will explore Kapama Private Game Reserve through morning and afternoon open vehicle game drives, which are included. Our daily Safari Program starts with an early morning wake up and morning coffee, followed by a Morning Safari and a comprehensive breakfast. Then enjoy the broad variety nature has to offer during our stay at Kapama Private Game Reserve. We enjoy ourselves until it’s time for Lunch and relax during the midday heat. After a refreshing Afternoon tea, enjoy our Afternoon Safari whilst looking out for the Big 5. If you desire, a private game drive or visit to the endangered species center (HESC) in the area can be arranged. (B,L,D)

October 18 / Day 8: Kapama Private Game Reserve – Zambia (Victoria Falls). This morning, we we will take a regional flight (not included) to Victoria Falls International Airport (Zimbabwe). On arrival in Zimbabwe, we will be met by a hotel representative and transferred to our accommodation. Take the rest of the day for leisure and enjoy our break from everyday life. (B)

October 19 / Day 9: Victoria Falls. Today we will enjoy a trip to the world-famous Victoria Falls and experience the “magic” of the falls during a guided tour.
Or, If you book the optional tour (extra fee) to the Devil's Pool in Zambia, today you will flirt with the wild side, swimming in one of world’s most fascinating natural pools of water, Devil’s Pool of Livingstone Island. This isn’t your ordinary swim in an infinity pool, but a daring dip on the very edge of the Victoria Falls. Brave swimmers will get to experience the ultimate thrill of peering over the brim of the largest curtain of falling water. In the late afternoon, both groups rendezvous and are together again to enjoy an unforgettable sunset cruise on the Zambezi River before the farewell dinner in the famous Boma. (B,D)
