Shown in the 1965 Mastercraft catalog "Original Interpretations in Fine Styling"
This Model 862B Sideboard is the version with an etched brass top w/brass frame instead of a wood top
Currently one of the ONLY versions available worldwide. Any of these that "look" like they are for sale on websites were sold a long time ago. And the ones that sold for a lot less had serious damage to the brass, patina, or wood after around 60 years

Made in the U.S.A. in Grand Rapids, Michigan around 1965. Some sites list these up to 1979 but Mastercraft started in 1946 and Baker Furniture bought out Mastercraft in 1976. And the catalog is from the mid 1960s collections
Even more stunning in person! The solid brass etched top and components are amazing and have the original lacquer finish. The photos are only showing some of the style, fine craftmanship and materials
It is in amazing ORIGINAL condition, especially since it was made in the mid 1960s or earlier.
Very rare and almost never found in this near mint condition. The few that have sold in the last ten years had various damage especially to the metal surfaces and finish.
These were originally polished, patinaed, then coated with lacquer to keep that original aging effect in place.
Many of the items from this line have burnished areas or improperly cleaned surfaces which led to the brass having tarnished areas which then show up nearly black over time.
This has almost none of that in comparison to others. And the brass is not bent, twisted or lifted.
Corners are in stunning shape and show the original braised areas between the heavy brass components. Top is etched brass with a textured pattern and is in stunning shape with some gorgeous variations in color from the aging process
Drawers appear to have high-end original factory upgrades for storing items
The one on 1stdibs (photo included in this ad) was sold for around $8,000 and is the closest example of the specific color and condition
It appears these were made with two shades of elm.
A more brownish traditional stain with a wood top.
And this one which is more of a blacked out / bronze shade which blends better with the solid brass framing and etched brass top.
This is a HEAVY table and it is VERY solid.
It weighs 106 pounds (placed on a scale)
