Vintage mid century modern teak coffee table by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen in excellent refinished condition. Model FD 640 was produced by France & Daverkosen in Denmark in the 1950s.

The tabletop is constructed from solid teak, with elegantly raised edges and 9.5” black laminate drink tray that stows underneath the surface when not in use. The base is constructed with conspicuous tongue and groove joinery that adds visual texture, showcasing teak’s natural color variances and chatoyance.

This particular example has been refinished to showroom condition with no noteworthy flaws. It remains structurally perfect, with no perceptible gaps in the joinery that unites the frame or the planks of teak that comprise the tabletop.
