A delightfully futuristic pair of mid century modern armchairs by John Sylvester & Jørgen Matz for Bramin, made in Denmark c. 1960s.
Constructed from solid afromosia, they have the color of black walnut with grain patterns that resemble both teak and rosewood.
The arms are perfectly sculpted, like the wing of and airplane, evoking those of Finn Juhl's FD 136 and NV 53. Stiletto tapers combined with the sharp angle of the rear legs give them a look that is both dainty and aggressive.
This pair has been refinished to perfection and reupholstered in a textured slate leather from Edelman's Modernaya collection. They can be used as captain’s chairs at the dining table or as accent / lounge chairs.
