Mid century modern expandable teak dining table with internal leaf storage, made in Denmark in the 1960s. Drawleaf dining tables are simple and practical. The leaves stow underneath the tabletop when not in use. The table can be expanded and collapse by one person in a few seconds, making it easy to set up for larger gatherings.
This particular table has an oak frame and tapered oak legs, which contrast nicely with the amber color of the teak surfaces. Teak and oak was a fairly common combination in the 1950s and 1960s, often seen in pieces by designers like Hans Wegner and Borge Mogensen.
With the leaves out it expands from 55 inches to 102 inches, accommodating 10 guests with ease. Overall it is in excellent vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear.
