- This plant is a perennial
- Filtered light, shade loving
- Place them under a balcony, porch, patio cover, gazebo, under a taller canopy of trees
- Excellent for a courtyard card or atrium
- They can be treated as a house plant or placed in a sun room
- In Winter they can receive more hours of sun vs. Summer
- 5"-8" tall rose flower clusters (tubular shaped, flared and sparkly & held on a tall spike)
- The flowers appear all thru the year (bloom about once a month), with the biggest masse of flowers occurring in late Winter/Spring (sometime between February and May)
- Green shiny leaves (the contrast between the rose colored flower and dark forest green foliage is striking)
- Mature plants can reach 4 to 5 feet tall
- You can combine these plants with other shade loving plants such as ferns, camellias, azaleas, hydrangeas, etc.
- They like moist conditions, but once established I have noticed they tolerate some periods of drought and neglect
- Add a bright splash of color to dark-shady areas!
Hummingbirds and butterflies adore the flowers. The glitzy rose flowers remind me of a quill or plume that was used to sign the Declaration of Independence. Or maybe a headdress worn by an American Indian or a Brazilian warrior at Carnival, in Rio de Janeiro!
I am predominately in the Fernando Valley and Simi Valley. About every other month, I have periodic jaunts to Ventura/Camarillo. If it would be more convenient to pick up in Ventura/Camarillo, let me know and we can make arrangements for you to receive these firework plants!
My plants are priced between $25 - $75. I price my plants based on their maturity, size, quantity of plants per container and overall appearance. With the plant you will receive the pot, soil, advice on transplanting and caring for them (written document).
