Busy Oncology/Hematology practice has an immediate opportunity available for a full-time medical assistant.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

*Greet and direct patients and visitors
*Patient registration/check-out
*Enter patient data into the registration system
*Collect co-payments and deductibles
*Reconcile daily cash report
*Schedule patient appointments and blood transfusions
*Answer telephone and respond to inquiry, direct caller to appropriate personnel or initiate a triage email for response by medical personnel
*Maintain supplies and cleanliness of front office
*Ensure maintenance of patient confidentiality
*Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in the performance of work assignments and duties
*Document patient's height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
*Report changes in patient's physical status to the mid level practitioner
*Review and record medical history including current medications
*Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests; prepare specimens for transport to laboratory
*Administer injections
*Assist in minor procedures
*Review physician orders, lab requests or follow-up needs with patients
*Maintain supplies and cleanliness of examination rooms
*Ensure maintenance of patient confidentiality
*Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in the performance of work assignments and duties

Job Requirements:

*High school diploma or equivalent
*Completion of an accredited medical assistant program with certification
*Current CPR certification
*Excellent phlebotomy skills
*Knowledge of medical laboratory procedures
*Basic computer knowledge
*Previous Oncology/ Hematology experience preferred but not required
