Summary of Position:
The ideal candidate will have the know-how of a Programmer as well as the skills of an Operator. The CNC Programmer develops part programs for CNC lathes, 3-axis mills, routers and waterjet cutters. The programmer develops machining strategies for parts and uses CAM software to generate machine code and documentation for the machine operators. The Operator duties include being responsible for proper set-up, operation, and maintenance of CNC machinery and the CNC shop area. The applicant will have a working knowledge of CNC machine tools and their controls, general machining operations, and tooling as well as have a strong grasp of fundamental work holding on various machine tools, CNC coordinate systems and their offsets.

Description of Duties, Including but Not Limited To:
• Using information and drawings from the technical design department, the programmer develops an efficient overall production strategy for parts. This strategy includes material to be used, machine operations and their sequence, and work holding techniques
• Work through first article inspection and make any changes necessary
• Perform machine set-up for all parts. This includes tooling set-up and measurement, work fixturing and locating, first run proofing, minor editing, first article inspection, and production
• maintain CNC machinery according to maintenance schedules. This includes lubrication, coolant maintenance, and general inspection and maintenance of the machinery

Job Requirements:
• Applicant should have at least 2 yrs. applicable training or work experience.
• Must possess solid troubleshooting and communications skills
• Ability to read and comprehend shop drawings
• Solid programming background using MasterCAM
• Knowledge of Fanuc and Haas
• Must be able to edit or create part drawings or models in MasterCAM
• Working hours are typically weekdays 6AM to 2:45PM, however longer days will be required when the workload requires it
• Ability to work long hours and weekends when needed
• Must be flexible about job assignments
• Must get along with, and be respectful to others
• Must be reliable and punctual.
