Zentner (Roy Seaman) Wood Piccolo in Beautiful Condition. Just received an artist level overhaul. No cracks, ever.
Roy Seaman made piccolo bodies and heads for many of the American Flute manufacturers for years, including Powell, before teaming up with Miles Zentner (former piccoloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic) to produce entire and complete instruments. Those instruments were marketed as Roy Seaman Piccolos, and they had sterling silver keywork. An otherwise identical piccolo was also marketed as the Miles Zentner model, differing only in having silver plated keywork. About 10 years into production, the scale was improved (the instrument was actually shortened and the Low D became less flat), and a "split E" was added. The Zentner models from about that time on also had sterling silver keywork, making them otherwise identical except for the name stamped on them. This instrument has no association with current Roy Seaman Piccolos presently being manufactured by Gemeinhardt today.
