This is a modern Pearl Export kit that is in like new condition. It's in a cool color that's called "Black Cherry Glitter". I don't think Pearl made the Export in this color for very long.....you usually see newer Exports in Wine Red or Burgundy, but this color sparkles under the lights with a lot of red & black metallic in it. I looked at a bunch of old Pearl catalogs online, and I've only seen this color listed for the Export in one of their 2023 catalogs, so Idk if that was the only year or what... This color seems to have been used primarily on Pearl's Midtown kit.
The sizes of these drum are 10" Tom, 12" Tom, 14" Snare, 16" Floor Tom, and 22" Bass. Shells are made out of a blend of Poplar and Asian Mahogany. These come with the Opti-Loc Mounting System on the rack toms. All of the hardware and cymbals are included, here's what comes with it:
- PDP 700 Series Drum Throne, 3" Thick Cushion
- Pearl chain-driven Hi-Hat Stand, double-braced
- Pearl double-braced Snare Drum Stand
- PDP Convertible Boom Cymbal Stand
- A 2nd PDP Convertible Boom Cymbal Stand
- Pearl CH70 Clamp / Cymbal holder boom arm
- Pearl Bass Drum Muffler Pillow
- Gibraltar chain-driven Bass Drum Pedal with base-plate and a Tama beater on it.
None of the cymbals have any cracks or keyholing in them. The ride and hats are like new, the crash is in excellent condition and the splash is the only one that looks well used. All of the chrome is in excellent condition with no rust, both on the hardware and the drums. All of the stands and the seat are pretty much still like new.
The batter heads on the Toms are basically new as well.....those aren't the original heads, they're new stock heads off of a higher line Pearl maple kit. They are a step up from the Export's original heads.....they're thicker and hazy. Basically they're the best heads that Remo makes in their overseas factory, although not as good as their heads made in the U.S. factory. But they're sounding good, I tuned up every one of these drums, top and bottom. These are ready to be played, nothing is missing on this kit.....no bolts, wing nuts, felts, memory locks, etc. It's all there. These Exports are expensive these days, they sell new for $1,100.....and that's with no cymbals, and no drum throne. If all of this stuff was bought new today, with taxes and all.....it would cost about $2,000
