The fretless UBASS-EM-FL from Kala is an Exotic Mahogany Acoustic-Electric U-Bass fitted with an exotic mahogany top, back, and sides, a walnut fingerboard and bridge, black binding, mahogany neck, in a satin finish. The instrument can be used by musicians and students in recording studios, rehearsals, for playing live on stage, and more.
The UBASS-EM-FL produces the same pitches as a standard bass instrument and is tuned in traditional bass tuning: E-A-D-G. Featuring 16 frets in a 21" scale, the Exotic Mahogany Fretless Acoustic-Electric U-Bass has an active EQ and built-in tuner to provide tone control and spot-on tuning. The walnut fingerboard on this U-Bass has dot inlay neck-markings at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th positions to help identify the 16 fretless locations.
The built-in custom Hipshot Ultralite tuners ensure the instrument will stay in tune, and the Graph Tech TUSQ nut and composite saddle deliver a balanced tone. The Exotic Mahogany Fretless U-Bass is set up with Kala's Round Wound strings, and includes a deluxe padded gig bag for transport.
The Exotic Mahogany Acoustic-Electric was introduced in 2012 and has the same upright bass sound as the Solid Mahogany U-Bass, look no further for enormous low end.. The unique orange and brown coloring, accentuated by exotic mahogany's recognizable "tiger stripe" figuring, provides the perfect visual character to pair with the resounding low-end and distinct upright bass tone of the U•BASS®.
