After a sort of weird story that I can share if needed (though as far as I can tell it doesn't really matter) I ended up with a Roland TR-1000 drum machine brand new in the box and am sort of unsure if this is something I wanna keep for myself or pass on to another musician who makes music more in the vein of classic TR-808 or TR-909 electro or house or detroit or etc than I do.
The thing is brand new in box. Naturally yeah, you're welcome to turn it on and try it out and make sure everything works well, but like -- Yeah, it's Roland. It's their flagship product. These are Japanese people we're talking about. The most generally conscientious manufacturers on planet earth, really. So it's good. If you want a TR-1000, this is going to delight you.
3k is basically what I paid after tax and shipping. If you want to offer like ... 2963$ that's fine, since I think that's the actual price online after tax or whatever. But yeah, offering it at around 3000 cash. Would also do like 3500 in trade. So if you have a used Minimoog Model D, an Oberheim whatever, some fun poly synth, maybe some Buchla or Serge, something with wavetables, stuff that people use the word "analog" to describe whether it's true or not, some other drum machine that seems fun, or ... idk, I like music gear obviously. I didn't end up with a TR-1000 because it fell on my head while I was walking under a bridge, obviously; it's in my studio because I like having toys in my studio.
So... anyway. If you're interested, drop me a line. I should be free all week if you wanna chat about this.
Any questions, send them my way -- love to talk objects with other music people who like objects. Cheers! --
