Chip Monck (The Voice of Woodstock) produced The Rolling Stones 1972 Tour, using exclusively AMPEG gear. He established a relationship with that company, so when he subsequently staged the Concert for "The Rumble in the Jungle" aka "Zaire '74" in coordination with the Muhammad Ali-George Foreman fight and needed similar gear, he exclusively used new AMPEG equipment sent to Africa for that major concert (B.B.King, James Brown, The Pointer Sisters, Bill Withers, The Spinners, Miriam Makeba, many more.) (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaire_74). If you played guitar at that concert, this is the amp you used. (B.B. famously said he "loved its response".)
I was Chip's personal assistant for that event, so when the concert was over and all the new equipment was sent back to the U.S., I had the opportunity to purchase this essentially, brand new Ampeg V-4 100-watt stack and did, directly from the factory, set up with super-reliable, professional concert components.
This amp is seriously loud and not well suited for use in a living room, but what did I know at 27? So it sat, unused in the closet.
Time passed. I now accept that, most likely, I probably will not be sitting in for Joe Bonamassa, Joe Satriani or Keith Richards any time soon, and so, have decided to sell what is essentially a time capsule; an almost new, unused Ampeg 100 watt V-4 head with Ampeg integral Reverb and Master Volume Pedals, Ampeg 4-12 speaker cabinet, original covers (plus one new cover), and all required cables.
Rare and one of a kind, with "Provenance". Tolex perfect. Grill cloth perfect. No rips, no scratches.

NOTE: This is the V-4 guitar amp, not to be confused with the Ampeg V-4B bass amp.
