This is a unique teardrop bass made from a Gibson ripper neck and an unknown body
The headstock was reshaped and the serial number is gone but the neck is Gibson made and was originally paired with a black finished ripper so it has the ebony board. Not sure who made the body but it was nicely done and is a bit wider than a ripper, it’s pretty comfortable to play standing. Pickups are original but are microphonic and sound way more open and aggressive than my ‘75 ripper. It’s currently wired with a volume and tone for each pickup. The strap is bolted to the neck but it’s fairly comfortable and would be easy enough to replace with a typical strap button. Comes with a hard case
I got this set up by pro luthier Trevor Lindsey which included a fret crown, bass sounds and plays phenomenally well with great sustain, strings are 45-100 Stringjoy Ranger stainless steel.
