This a fairly rare 1920s era guitar likely built by either Oscar Schmidt or one of the "Italian Guild" luthiers that used the Galiano name
I've owned a few Galiano guitar's and this one shares some similarities with them but I'm leaning towards it being built by the OS factory.
Tight grained Adirondack Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides (all solid), original ladder bracing, 1 3/4 nut width, guitar is fairly large for the era with a long scale length at about 26 1/4", a lower bout width of about 15 1/8" and a depth of 4"
Has had a neck reset, bridge reglue and a replaced bone nut and saddle. The frets are supposedly original but I'm not sure, they are bar frets that were put in very sloppily, to me it seems like an amateur refret. Tuners are StewMac Golden Age. Has a replaced heel cap.
Top had a few cracks that were all sealed/cleated and has a few dings and scratches. The back and sides are crack free but also have a few dings. Neck is straight and playability is excellent
These guitars like to be tuned down a step due to the scale length but you can get away with half a step when using extra light strings, standard tuning is usually ill advised. Comes with a modern hardshell case
