This is a great depression era Gibson archtop in fairly good condition for it's age.
Has the original black finish, solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides with top and back binding making it a "Black Special #2"
Guitar is in player grade shape with replacement tuners, new bridge and a headstock respray which covered the old logo, a new logo was very sloppily painted on. Does not have the original pickguard.
These archtops have flat backs which are prone to cracking, this one appears to have two on the back which have not been addressed. Also the back braces on these can sometimes get loose or fall of but this one seems fine.
Guitar was well played with some gouges in the fretboard around the cowboy chord area but the frets are tall and don't have much wear on them, I believe the first three frets are new but the rest are original.
It sounds and plays fairly well with the action not too high though its starting to creep up a bit. The mahogany neck is a very comfortable V shape with a 1.77" nut width. Comes with a chipboard case
