I will be visiting West Hollywood until Tuesday and I am posting a few of my instruments for sale. If there are any genuinely interested parties that I can bring the instrument with me.
1977 Fender Twin Reverb with JBL Speakers – Classic Silverface Power
I don’t mind playing it until it sells, so no low-ball offers please.
This is a 1977 Fender Twin Reverb — one of the great clean, high-headroom amps of all time. It’s the 135-watt Silverface era model with the push/pull master volume and factory JBL “orange frame” speakers, which are highly sought after for their clarity and punch.
The amp is in excellent working order and sounds fantastic — shimmering Fender cleans, massive volume on tap, and that unmistakable sparkle that only JBLs deliver. Cosmetics are very good for its age with normal wear for a late-’70s Twin. All controls function properly, reverb and tremolo are lush, and it’s ready for stage or studio use.
These late-’70s Twins are built like tanks and are one of the best values in vintage Fender gear. Whether you’re chasing pedal-platform cleans, classic country tone, or pristine jazz headroom, this one delivers.
Features:
• 135 watts (ultra-linear Silverface circuit)
• Two original JBL “orange frame” speakers
• Push/pull master volume (adds a gain boost)
• Normal and Vibrato channels with reverb and tremolo
• Bright switches on both channels
• Made in Fullerton, California, USA
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, fully functional, normal cosmetic wear, no issues.
About that push/pull master volume:
On these late-’70s Twin Reverbs, pulling the master volume knob engages a mild gain boost circuit. It’s not true overdrive — more of a preamp gain lift — but some players like it for extra edge or sustain. Most leave it pushed in for the traditional clean Twin sound.
