This is the mid 80s Yamaha "super jam" model with very powerful pick ups, it's the only model I know apart from their high end Yamaha SG & SA lines that has spinex pickups. They seem best suited for hard rock, metal, or grunge, very aggressive. But with modern effects I guess you could use the guitar for just about anything. Excellent build quality, excellent condition. Official color "red black cherry" but I'd say it's a dark plum, though depending on the lighting it can look more black or more red, unique color.
When your coil tap one of the pick ups, pick up configuration will then match typical telecaster (one single coil / one double coil). Or keep both double coil. normal wear and tear but I think the body actually looks far above average for the age.
Great alternative to Fender, Gibson, PRS or Japanese guitars from the Matsumoku factory.
