One of a kind customized Gibson SG-X, a variation of the SG made from 1995 to 2000, unique for having a single pick up as well as 24 frets. The single pick up has typical awesome Gibson growl. American made with great build quality.
If you research the Gibson SG-X you see that this model in particular had a reputation for high build quality despite being sold as the lowest price American made SG variant.
This was originally the muddy brown color (these came with unique colors that I was not particularly a fan of, but I wanted 24 frets and I wanted a single pick up and I love the SG look, so I grabbed one of these, and to improve the looks considerably, I had Pat Wilkins paint it blue with a hint of green similar to the fading of old blue SG's, and the Bigsby it's a perfect fit to give it a vintage look.
$400 paint job and cost of the Bigsby with professional installation at Eric's Guitar (plus of course a professional set up).
Moving and downsizing. You can probably get a normal SG-X for hundreds less, but if you appreciate the upgrades here in terms of color and the Bigsby, then this might be the guitar for you.
I read something about Eddie Van Halen recommending single pick ups for guitarist so they have to get toned from their fingers not from switching between pick up selections or coil taps or whatever which is why I was in the market for a single pick up guitar when I stumbled on this model, hope it goes to a good home. I do have the brown Gibson case for it. since the paint job it did get scratched on one tip of a batwing, pictured, otherwise in top condition.
