Seeking a part-time Music Assistant to support a touring artist, composer, and musical director with preparing tracks for orchestration and arrangement. You’ll work with existing recordings (pop songs, live demos, etc.), locking them to a DAW grid, creating accurate tempo maps, and prepping charts for strings, brass, and other instruments.
This is a rare opportunity to work directly with one of the best in the game — someone who moves fast, demands excellence, and is building major projects right now. Only serious, dedicated applicants who take pride in their craft should apply.
📍 Must be based in Los Angeles or able to work remotely with reliable communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tempo mapping: create accurate tempo maps for tracks not recorded to a click
• Snapping audio to the grid while keeping the natural feel of the performance
• Chart prep: notation work in Sibelius, Finale, or MuseScore
• Preparing sessions for orchestration and studio use
• Exporting synced stems or project files for arrangement work
• Staying responsive and communicating clearly as projects evolve
Ideal Candidate:
• Strong DAW skills (Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or similar)
• Solid musical knowledge (timing, bars, beats, harmony)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized
• Flexible schedule — available when projects come in
• Bonus: orchestration or large ensemble experience
Pay:
$150/week to start. Loose, part-time hours — workload may vary week to week. Opportunity for growth as projects expand.
