Available for Adoption: Adult Male African Sulcata Tortoise, apx 18 years old, apx 140 pounds, apx 28 inches long. One owner for the past 15 years. He requires 1,500 sq ft habitat minimum with solid fencing (can't see through), must not share with any other tortoise (has tried to kill anything ever attempted), a dry heated house for overnight and cold winter days, fresh walk in water source, and food available daily. Currently his diet is orchard hay as the base with fresh offerings of roses, hibiscus, lavatera, rose of sharon, grape leaves, mulberry leaves, assorted seasonal weeds, and the occasional cactus pads when hot, etc. This is not a grocery store fed tortoise. If possible grazing is best for him. He is tame with people and will inspect when you rake or clean his habitat. He will chase dogs if they enter his habitat. Doesn't mind cats. He requires being the king of his own habitat. No he should not share a habitat with any farm animals. He is located on the west side of the greater Santa Clarita Valley in Los Angeles County near the I-5 and Highway 126. His rehoming fee is $300 to a home that can prove the above habitat is supplied for him. He is a character!
