About the Role
We’re a fast-growing vegan café looking for a punctual, honest, drama-free “unicorn” who loves great food and great people. You’ll primarily run the back of house (prep, cook, clean, close) and be cross-trained as a barista. You should be a reliable problem solver with good energy, able to switch gears during rushes, and committed to a spotless, efficient, clean-kitchen operation.
Key Responsibilities
Back-of-House (Primary)
Execute menu items to spec; maintain portioning, consistency, and plating standards.
Daily prep: wash, chop, marinate, mix, batch, label, and store using FIFO and date-time labels.
Operate equipment (oven, fryer/air fryer, griddle, mixers, smallwares) safely; log opening/closing temps.
Maintain a clean, allergen-aware vegan line; prevent cross-contact (no meat/dairy/wheat in BOH).
Follow health-code standards: glove use, handwashing, sanitation buckets, hot/cold holding.
Complete opening/closing checklists; deep-clean BOH, dishes, trash, and floors.
Assist with inventory counts, receiving, rotation, and low-stock alerts.
Support FOH during peak times (expo, running orders) as needed.
Baker/ has early morning shifts 7am, independent, assists with making all our vegan pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, and treats. Must know how to prepare icing for cakes and cupcakes for must have experience in baking.
Make espresso drinks to recipe (dial-in basics), steam non-dairy milks, brew drip, cold beverages.
Prepare smoothies/iced drinks; maintain bar cleanliness and restock.
Handle POS accurately: count back change; reconcile cash drawer per shift.
Deliver upbeat, fast, friendly service; call out orders and manage drink queue.

Ticket times meet standard during rush (manager sets target).
Zero critical health-code violations; logs/checklists complete daily.
Waste minimized; recipes followed with consistent quality.
Must-Have Qualifications
1–2 years recent restaurant BOH experience (prep/cook/line).
