Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Plant Procurement & Sales Specialist to support our growing plant sourcing and nursery operations in California.This position combines procurement responsibilities with sales and compliance duties. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of plant varieties, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with nursery operations and U.S. plant regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
●Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with nurseries, growers, and plant suppliers across different regions.
●Negotiate prices, contracts, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
●Source and procure indoor and outdoor plants, including ornamental, landscaping, and potted plants.
●Plan purchasing schedules and inventory based on project demand, client orders, and seasonal trends.
●Handle plant import/export compliance, including obtaining and maintaining required nursery dealer or plant sales licenses and related documentation.
●Manage logistics and shipping arrangements, ensuring plants arrive in optimal condition.
●Communicate with suppliers and customers to coordinate orders, resolve issues, and ensure timely fulfillment.
●Conduct market and price research to identify new products and opportunities.
●Prepare procurement reports, supplier evaluations, and cost analyses.
●Attend horticulture trade shows or industry events to identify new suppliers and customers.
Qualifications
●Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, Supply Chain, or a related field.
●Minimum 1 year of experience in plant procurement, horticulture sales, or related green industry roles.
●Strong plant knowledge and ability to assess quality and health conditions.
●Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
●Experience with logistics coordination and supplier management.
●Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement systems.
●Ability to travel domestically as needed.
●Fluent in English; Mandarin Chinese proficiency preferred.
