Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Technician to join our Research & Development team. Under the supervision of the Lab Manager, the Lab Technician will assist in the formulation, testing, and production of skincare products, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment and contribute to the development of cutting-edge skincare solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, mix, and test batches of skincare formulations, including creams, serums, lotions, and other personal care products.
Conduct routine and non-routine testing (e.g., pH, viscosity, stability, odor, and appearance) to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
Maintain accurate records of experiments, test results, and formulations in lab notebooks or Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Assist in quality control checks to identify and troubleshoot stability or performance issues.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and adherence to safety protocols.
Collaborate with formulation chemists, regulatory teams, and production staff to support product development and scale-up processes.
Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure compliance with FDA and other regulatory standards.
Order and manage lab supplies, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
Assist in preparing samples for third-party testing or regulatory submissions, as needed.

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in cosmetics, skincare, or personal care product manufacturing.
Familiarity with lab equipment, testing methods (e.g., pH meters, viscometers), and safety protocols.
Knowledge of GLP, GMP, and FDA regulations is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Proficiency in data collection and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, LIMS).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for skincare product innovation.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with emulsions, surfactants, or color cosmetics.
Familiarity with raw material sourcing and product stability testing.
Basic knowledge of cosmetic regulations (e.g., Cosmetic Product Notification Portal - CPNP).
