History of the TAD Offshore Kayak:
Designer: Tadeuz (TAD), a businessman and kayaker from Orange County, California, who designed the kayaks in the late 1970s.
Original models: The first model was the 4.2-meter (approximately 13.8 ft) single-seater, followed by a tandem version.
Production rights sold: TAD sold the designs and manufacturing rights to Laser, which sold them as the Laser Blade.
Discontinuation: Laser eventually stopped making the kayaks, and the brand faded from the market.
Current status: The kayaks are no longer in production, and they are now considered vintage or collectible items. Some owners still have and use them, sometimes noting their interesting design for the time.
