Hardy & Beck H&B 3 Piece Wheels BMW E30 4x100 15 x 7 ET22 - $4,500 (Reseda)

These came off a grey market, ’84 BMW 323i Hardy & Beck build that I acquired a number of years ago (chassis long gone). To give some historical perspective, these wheels were E30 chassis specific and were outfitted on H&B 327s models. The 20 spoke center design is unlike any other center H&B produced making them really unique. In fact, all H&B centers dating back to the 70’s had flat centers. It’s my understanding that they got in some legal troubles with Alpina-- their main competitor and stopped offering wheels at some point in the late 80’s making this one of the last style of wheels produced. I suspect there’s very few sets left in existence, and likely none as nice as this.
An ’85 Road & Track feature on the H&B 327s outlined the cost on a set of these 3-piece wheels with tires for a total of $2,566. Today that would be equivalent to over $7,300.
A lot of time and resources went into refinishing these gems. The following work was completed back in ‘21
• Wheels were broken apart
• Lips/ barrels professionally straightened
• All components professionally stripped (cold bath)
• Centers powdercoated tad lighter then nagaro silver metallic
• Lips professionally brushed and cerakoted with clear to give machine type appearance
• Lips, barrels and centers installed with new hardware including nuts and bolts.
• Sealed with RTV after all components were mounted and installed.
• 205/55/15 Yokahama Advan Fleva tires mounted and balanced
Condition: Excellent with absolutely no curb rash. One wheel has a scratch mark on the lip and another wheel shows some wear on the lip. Overall very presentable.
Fitment & Tires: These were early model specific. I tried mounting them to my ’91 318iS and ran into clearance issues with the front calipers. Small spacers should do the trick on late model, 88+ Offset is ET22. Tires have less than 4k miles of use.
Please note, wheels are being sold with tires, I will not separate. I also have H&B sway bars and long tube headers off the same E30 323i that I can bundle for a discount.
