If you’re looking for a part-time job that’s enjoyable and rewarding where you’re helping others in a meaningful way, then look no further!
Schedule: 3:30pm to 7pm/8pm – Monday-Friday
I need help with my son after school, he's 10 years old and has high functioning autism. He’s pretty easygoing on most days, but has elevated anxiety on and off – we’ll provide training and strategies on how to best support him during those times. He’s also quite intelligent and loves anything and everything to do with STEM, video games, super heroes, watching movies, etc.
If you’re a student and studying to be in any of the following fields: Child development, teaching, psychology or social work. It would be great work experience to start getting your feet wet, gain relevant experience and build your resume all while earning some extra money.
Duties & learning opportunities: It can be as low key as picking him up from school/bus stop and hanging out at home while you both work on homework or watch a movie until I get home to potentially getting involved in taking him to therapies like ABA, counseling, speech, occupational therapy, vision therapy, after school activities or even cooking with him so he can work on trying to new foods. Also if you’d like to explore/learn more about assessments/Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process through the school district, insurance funding or Regional Center services/therapy, I’d be more than happy to share insight/information on any of those areas.
I’d love help around the house with light cleaning/organizing, running errands, grocery shopping, etc. I also have quite a few admin/paperwork follow-ups I could really use help with! If you cook, move to the front of the line!!
Also, we have a mini labradoodle so you must be comfortable with pets.
So, are you…
• A self-starter with a proactive attitude (able to see what needs to be done and do it)
• Detailed and organized
• Have patience and work well with kids
• Fun with a great sense of humor
• Independent, bright, and a fast learner
• Dependable – this is a must! We have very set schedule and must have someone reliable in this position.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen. Must have reliable transportation to drive to therapies as needed.
So if this sounds like something you’re interested in or if you have questions, please feel free to e-mail me or text me a little more about you and why you're a good fit for this role so we can setup a good time to chat.
I will be conducting interviews this weekend and hope to start someone as soon as next week!
