condition: like new
make / manufacturer: Zeiss Ikon
model name / number: Magister Epidiascope
Zeiss Ikon Magister Epidiascope, purchased in Stuttgart (see label) and imported from Germany by a private party, MINT, NEVER USED. I contacted Zeiss in Germany and received this information: "The newly designed high-performance epidiascope Magister is ideal wherever exceptional brightness is required and long projection distances are an issue. A single lever switches the setup from epi projection to slide projection and vice versa. The toggle switches for the two 500 watt lamps are attached at the top. Vertically below there is a control knob for the powerful cooling fan, and below this control knob there is a drive knob to be able to move the epidiascope on the stage. The object table is particularly large and spacious and allows the placement of very thick and large books, the use of atlases and in general all things that come into consideration for episcopic projection. The Magister comes with an Epi-Anastigmat 1:4 focal length 60 cm and Dia-Anastigmat 35 cm focal length (on request 30 cm for glass pictures 8.5x8.5 cm). The equipment includes an adjustable cooling fan, with 3 m connecting cable, with 2 frames each for glass photos 9x12, 8.5x10 and 8.5x8.5 cm, with changing device for postcards including 3 picture cassettes, with tempered glass pane, auxiliary lamp, automatic mercury switch and 2 light bulbs 500 watt 110 Volt.". Zeiss Germany told me that the item is so rare that they do not have much information on it other than what I have noted above. All necessary cables are included. The lens, a Zeiss Ikon Epikar 60cm f/4 is highly valuable on it's own. The apparatus is a bit over 3 feet in length and includes a hand built wooden storage box, on wheels, with cover. SOLD AS IS AS IT HAS NOT BEEN TESTED.
