"Charles Linklater; or, the Three Things You Learn About Dying" is a dark comedy about a young man who is diagnosed with cancer but, for some reason, realizes that he doesn't really mind. Charles sets out on a journey of self-exploration to find out why he is so indifferent to life.
Aunt Bonnie: ages 30-60, black female. Role shoots Sunday, July 28th.
Aunt Bonnie is Charles' overprotective Aunt who raised him and treats him like her own. She has a hard time relating to him or understanding his needs, especially in this time of crisis.
Doctor: ages 30+, male or female. Shoots Saturday, July 27th.
The doctor role is a minor player in the story but present in two of the major scenes, including the climax. He or she is caring, kind, and professional. Role has lines in 2 scenes.
Pastor: ages 30+, male or female. Shoots Saturday, July 27th.
The pastor is a role that is present in one of the more serious scenes of the film. He or she is giving a monologue on stage, (either scripted or improvised), while our main characters watch.
Robe lady / guy: comedic, ages 30+. Shoots Saturday, July 27th.
This person wanders by Charles' window and flips him off on a daily basis.
