Offered for sale, an original photograph created by Jerry Uelsmann, an artist best known for his innovative work with the photomontage technique, using traditional darkroom techniques and multiple enlargers to create what are now iconic images. The print is 9 3/4" x 13 1/2" and remains matted and framed in it's original 16" x 20" anodized metal frame in a style that was popular in the late 60's. Dated 1968, this was part of a short run that included colorization... in this work, a blue tint. The piece is initialed on the front and signed on the back. And to authenticate originality, as only true collectors of Uelsmann works would know, on the back is also the "Jerry N Uelsmann, 5701 SW 17th Drive, Gainesville, Florida 32608" sticker ~ what would usually be used as the return address sticker on a postal letter was the unique item that identifies original originals created by Jerry himself. The piece was a gift from Jerry and his then wife, Diane Ferris, to the Founders of the Newport School of Photography ~ a thanks for the invitation to hold a weekend master class at the school in 1975. Now downsizing, it's time to find a follow along caretaker for this classic work. Included in the photos, a posting of recent auctions of this exact image. Fairly priced at $4,900, check in with Richard at show contact info to arrange a time and place for inspection. And, no need for the "Is the Uelsmann photograph still available?" kinds of response. If the ad is up, the work is still here. Thanks for the interest.
