Be the one and only person to own these exclusive artist proof plates
Do you remember Red Skelton and his Comedy Hour? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you. These are Red Skelton “Anyone for Tennis?” artist proof plates from 1986. The portrait is Freddy the Free-loader. It is based on one of Red Skelton’s painted self portraits. There are the only two of these experimental proof plates. Each plate is numbered E / 10,000. The colors on this proof edition are a little different from those used for the mass production of 10,000. The plates are not signed and imperfect but they are a truly remarkable and incredibly rare art collectible.
Armstrong's Ceramics started in Pomona in 1973. The owner David became friends with Red and produced all of the plates based on Red's paintings. Not even David could tell me how these proofs came about. Typically, the first few copies are experimental tests. These are not made available to the public, but rather given to the artist or the subject. Now is your chance to be the one who adds these to your collection.
