The ZBOP ROBOT was originally designed and built in 1992 by 21st Century Robotics in Atlanta for the Discovery Zone Kids Activity Centers all over America. Original cost was approximately $12,000 apiece and about 200 were made. Each center would provide an operator to make the ZBOP move and interact with the kids and adults. When DZ went bankrupt in the late 1990's they were sold at auction and there is now fewer than 100 of these left working. The company, 21st Centrury Robotics, still exists and may service them if anything needs repair.
Discovery Zone ZBop Robot - As Seen On PAWN STARS This Full Sized Robot is ready to go and in great shape after being reconditioned by the original builder. He has a new paint job on his torso, feet and head and his electronics are fully functional and in good working order. His RC controller has been upgraded to a digital Spektrum DX6i in the last year. For the last 5 years he has been owned and operated by the Vodvill Entertainment Company in Kansas City who has rented him out for parties, festivals and other events. He is capable of entertaining small or large crowds with a trained operator and has the ability to make money for anyone willing to learn to use him.
