Post 1460 slide rule with case - $100 (Redondo Beach)

Excellent condition. Includes like new leather case. Slide rule still in original wrapping.

I purchased this slide rule in 1969 at Michigan State University as I enrolled to start my engineering degree. It is a one owner item since new. It has been stored in a temperature and humidity controlled nonsmoking environment since that time. It is in “like new” condition and the slides work smoothly.

This is Frederick Post Versalog Hemmi Japan 1460 Bamboo Slide Rule w Leather Case, The Frederick Post Co. Versalog 1460 Bamboo Hemmi Slide Rule is a bamboo slide rule coated with white celluloid on all sides except the ends. It comes with a leather case. The slide rule is made by Hemmi of Japan and distributed by the Frederick Post Co. of Chicago.

Hemmi was a Japanese slide rule firm established in 1895. In 1912, Hemmi began applying celluloid to bamboo, which resulted in rules that did not shrink or expand like wooden rules.

Similar condition collectible slide rules like this routinely go for $400 or more.
