The SIG at Echo Horizon program will be open to international and domestic gifted students, ages 5-12. We are looking for qualified Instructors to work at the three week session this summer. Overall courses focuses include Science, Math, Technology, Humanities, Multi-Disciplinary, Visual/Performing Arts, and Recreation. Instructors are able to teach 1-3 courses in the program.
Instructor positions are paid by education level and per course taught. Instructors are not provided with housing, so we are looking for local candidates that can provide daily transportation to and from campus.
SIG instructors will support the growth of the student's knowledge and understanding of the course subject material. Courses employ a creative methodology and focus on providing meaningful connections between student interests and the overarching course concepts. SIG courses should culminate in a final student presentation that requires the synthesis and evaluation of their new-found knowledge. The goal is less about covering content and more about providing meaningful connections between student interests and the overarching course concepts.
Instructors must demonstrate flexibility in their role, as well as strong time management skills to complete the planning for course preparation. The pre and post camp responsibilities are related to course planning and student evaluations.
