Hi, my name's Alexander Sutton-Hough. I'm a Director of Photography in Los Angeles looking for filmmakers to collaborate with on short films, music videos, experimental shorts, and feature films.
As a cinematographer, I pride myself on my ability to problem solve, whether it's lighting a challenging space, working within a limited budget, or dealing with technical glitches. I obsess over finding the right tools for any job, and am constantly looking for ways to streamline and simplify the process. I've put together a practical camera, grip, and lighting kit that can quickly pack into my car and shoot any small production at a moment's notice so that even on a tight budget I don't have to compromise quality.
As much as I obsesses over equipment though, my approach to cinematography is that what's in front of the camera and lens is far more important than having the most expensive cameras and lenses. I see each project as a creative partnership and strive not just to capture the most beautiful images but tell the story the director wants to tell in the best way possible. I don't like to stick to one style, but rather creates a look specific to each film and treat the cinematography as a character of the film itself.
I own a Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K Digital Cinema Camera EF Mount and 2 Panasonic GH5S with Metabones Speed boosters along with a very versatile grip and lighting package to take on any small production you throw at me.
