1999 LOTUS ESPRIT SPORT 350 FINISHED IN METALLIC BLACK OVER TWO TONE RED AND BLACK INTERIOR 3.5L TWIN TURBO 350 HP RWD LIMITED EDITION #7 OF 8. INCREDIBLE CONDITION WITH 34,283 MILES ON THE ODOMETER

The first Esprit series was launched in 1976 and 13 years later, culminated into the ultimate Esprit Sport 350, named after the 350 horsepower engine. The Esprit sports car was one of the first “folded paper” designs by legendary designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, which would inspire many cars in the future. Leading up to the first Esprit series, Lotus was transitioning from budget-priced sports cars to high performance vehicles that could compete with the likes of Porsche and Ferrari. The Esprit would be the car to launch Lotus to the sports car manufacturer we know and love today. The Sport 350 was one of the last Esprit models manufactured, with Esprit production ending in 2004 after nearly three decades.

Lotus planned to build just 50 examples of the Sport 350 edition of the Esprit between the 1999 and 2001 model years; there was the first prototype show car, then just 42 road cars (for Europe) plus 4 track cars for Japan, with each of these cars sporting a unique edition number. There were also an additional 8 cars produced for the US market, but these were to a different specification and had their own numbering of which this example was number 7 of 8. Changes to the U.S. model of the Esprit Sport 350 from the standard US V8 specification included; body color license plate and rear light surrounds, revised engine programming, body color center console and door trim insert, the following aluminum parts: fascia panel, gear lever knob and trim ring, and the following parts that are exclusive to the Sport 350 model; front spoiler and finisher, carbon fiber rear wing, sport brake package with black calipers and magnesium road wheels. The colors were limited to 4 in New Aluminum and 4 in Metallic Black (which was exclusive to the Sport 350). The following is based on serial number sequence and data available to date for the Sport 350 for USA; this example was the last produced out of 4 cars in Metallic Black.

There was only one other Sport 350 in Metallic Black and that example is located across the pond in the UK. The internal Lotus paint code for Metallic Black is “B13”. This one-of-a-kind vehicle also features a glass roof. The car was signed from production on the 20th January 2000. He did regular services and had minimal issues during ownership. The only thing he worked on mechanically was the A/C compressor. There was a fitting on the compressor that gave him an issue that was repaired at the Lotus dealer in Denver. Due to its age, the previous owner also decided to do a Full Timing Belt Service with Pulleys along with replacement of the spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel hoses, rear tires and battery. This Esprit runs extremely well and is the finest example we have ever seen. This very special vehicle is in great condition all around. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions on this car!

This Sport 350 comes with One Key, Certificate of Provenance and Recent Records!!
