The 1965 Super Sport is a fixture of the muscle car community. A real HOT ROD. The SS badge became the signature of performance on many models and often featured special trim and appearance details in addition to the power and handling upgrades. Super Sport received handsome new bodies with a pronounced “Coke bottle" fender treatment. The signature triple tail lights from the 1964 Impala were repeated for 1965, but the X-frame was abandoned in favor of a perimeter frame. Power is supplied by 64 1/2 rebuilt 340hp 409 cubic inch V8 mated to a 2-Speed power glide automatic transmission. With a fresh motor rebuild, the nostalgic muscle car appearance is reflected in the Lemon Yellow paint color, slick black interior, newer Hancock radial tires with the period correct narrow white walls, and period correct hub caps. The beauty has power Steering and 4wheel disc brakes as well as factory AC. which blows cold. Rebuilt 12 bolt rear end lays all that power to the ground. A factory (rare) tach and a Retro stereo with blue tooth and usb are features of the dashboard. A factory replicated wiring harness and factory replicated exhaust system round out the restoration.
