Rather than being another movie, ActToProtect will instead aim to be Hollywood's Greatest gift to Americans and to the Planet and arguably what is now most needed America and for the world: to help ignite and support the campaigns that will comprise the urgent massive nonviolent national well targeted and managed civic uprising and social strike which history and political science teaches us is our best strategy now for any chance to stop and reverse the grotesque level of wealth inequality, stop and reduce the ridiculous cost of rent, stop the fascist take-over and bring democracy and the rule of law back to America, and as a result stop the current ecocide and still preserve a livable earth.
How: By showing 1) the most moving scenes of the most moral courage-inspiring based-on-true life-stories-movies since the 70s, most Oscar-winning or nominated, set up by the lead star of each scene, all A+ actors & GenZ&X influencers, 2) bookended by vignettes with today's real life courageous counterparts sharing their own reflections on injustice, greed, moral courage,organizing, and today's context ; and all of this intercut with short punchy video pitches (including TikToks showing Gen Alphas, Zs, and X's , and millenials fighting back) from campaigns today, all of this designed to 1) raise $300M for at least 100-200 bold, creative, at times hilarious, democracy, affordability, planet-saving campaigns while 2) igniting a sufficient level of moral courage in hopefully tens of millions of Americans to take back our country and our government–to achieve a government of, for and by the people.

ActToProtect will be a cinematic celebration and inspiration of the power of film and moral courage, the most important of all human virtues, because “without moral courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently"(Maya Angelou)
The goal is to pair emotional inspiration with tangible action, art fueling the courage to protect democracy, the dignity of ALL Americans--especially the 98%, and our planet.
DUTIES: (prefer at least 30hrs/wk)
Note: These are not in stone and can be modified by the co-producer if mutually agreed:
Step 1 (first week if possible) landing 2-3 A-list celeb letters from them or their publicist expressing enthusiasm to participate without charge, providing usual conditions (union waiver, not in the middle of production, taking less than 45minutes if in their home or nearby studio, etc)
Step 2: Finding similar letters from potential exec producers, directors, well connected lawyers to expedite free licensing (by showing scenes from these movies, people will be incentivized to re-rent or rent these movies for the first time
Step 3: lining up 2 or 3 local professional camera-sound light teams, editors, writers, etc willing to donate their time
Step 4 (while doing 3) QAing ins and outs of needed movie scenes, and following up with lawyers to expedite studio releases of the scenes and getting the footage. Expediting such releases is expected to be the major challenge, and likely require networking to helpful lawyers (likely retired).
Step 5: (also can be simultaneous with 3 and 4): Expediting agreements from major distribution channels or one or more streaming networks.
Step 6: Simultaneous with all of the above: Researching to find most inspiring potential significant city, state and national impact campaigns, arranging 2-3min video promos for these campaigns, as well as dynamic inspiring spokespeople for these campaigns to feature in the specials (possibly including some in India or EU if we include A list celebs from those nations). You will have a researcher at your disposal.
Additional Duties to be included as needed
DURATION 4-6 Months , but could actually last 2 yrs, and most likely extended several months beyond the initial 4-6months to debut of the first special, with follow up responsibilities arranging PR and social media buzz, acquisition of additional 2-3 minute video pitches from local and national campaigns for use in a 2nd and/or third special, and ensuring transparency re finances and publicity of achievements and possible city and state level spin-offs
START DATE: ASAP
COMPENSATION: negotiable, results based, volunteer preferred, otherwise $25-30/hr (more when we raise funding, which should be easy once we have letters of conditional commitment from 3-4 celebs, and one or more exec producers, etc
