We’re looking for a Bakery Prep Cook / Bakery Assistant to join our sourdough production team — someone who’s organized, reliable, and eager to learn the craft of breadmaking. This is a hands-on role supporting the heart of our bakery: scaling, cutting, preparing ingredients, and helping our bakers keep things running smoothly. Häsi Bread began in a home kitchen and has grown into one of Los Angeles’ most loved sourdough bakeries — known for our naturally-leavened loaves, vibrant doughs, and fresh-milled grains. Our production team is the foundation of everything we do, and this role is a key part of that rhythm: keeping the flow of dough, ingredients, and workspace dialed in each day.
What You’ll Do
Cut and portion dough accurately by weight
Scale and mix ingredients for bread production
Transfer doughs from tubs to proofing setups with care
Assist bakers during mixing, shaping, and bake prep
Keep workstations, tubs, and tools clean and organized
Wash, sanitize, and maintain bakery equipment
Support smooth production flow through teamwork and attention to detail
Learn foundational bread skills — shaping, folding, scoring, and fermentation
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a kitchen, prep, or bakery environment
A positive, hard-working attitude and willingness to learn
Strong organization and time management skills
Comfort working early mornings and weekends
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for long periods
Respect for consistency, cleanliness, and craft
Interest in growing into a bread-shaping or baking role over time
