We are a Mediterranean restaurant in the Brentwood area looking for a Cook / Prep Cook with experience preparing kebabs and preferably previous Mediterranean kitchen experience. Seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook / Prep Cook ready to own the kitchen and become a key player. If you know how to work with fresh ingredients, grill meats, and handle fast-paced prep work, we want to meet you!
Position:
Full-Time Cook / Prep Cook
Location: Pita Bar and Grill Restaurant, Brentwood – West Los Angeles
Compensation: Hourly pay (based on experience) starting at $17/hr + tips + staff meals
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook items according to menu standards
• Prepare and marinate meats for kebabs, shawarma, skewers, and other Mediterranean dishes
• Cook kebabs, grilled items, rice, salads, and hot/cold appetizers
• Follow recipes and portion standards consistently
• Perform daily prep work (cutting vegetables, sauces, dressings, etc.)
• Assist with dishwashing when needed to help the kitchen team
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
• Assist with opening/closing kitchen duties
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house team
• Help with restocking and kitchen inventory tasks
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of cooking experience
• Experience cooking kebabs required
• Experience in a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern restaurant strongly preferred
• Ability to work fast, clean, and organized
• Good knife skills and +grill experience
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Able to work evenings and weekends when needed
