We are seeking an experienced Banquet Captain to join our events team. As Banquet Captain, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of our private events. You will work closely with the event manager, the service team, and kitchen staff to uphold the high standards of professionalism, efficiency, and hospitality that define the Tiato experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and direct banquet staff during event setup, service, and breakdown
Ensure smooth and timely execution of dinner service and guest experience
Coordinate with owner, event managers, kitchen, and support staff to maintain flow and communication
Maintain high standards of professionalism, hospitality, and appearance
Act as the event closer, ensuring all post-event duties and breakdown tasks are completed properly
Attend office hours to prepare and organize essential paperwork, ensuring smooth and efficient event execution
Additional Opportunities (Optional):
When no events are scheduled, assist the Senior Operations Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
Assisting in other administrative tasks when possible
Requirements:
Prior experience as a Banquet Captain or in a supervisory role in events or hospitality
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to stay composed and efficient in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
A commitment to excellence in guest service and team collaboration
Flexibility to support both events and restaurant service operations
Proficient in Words and Excel
Position Details:
Compensation: Based on experience and availability.
Typical Shift Length: 6 – 8 hours per event
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Type: Part-time/ full time with potential for additional hours during peak seasons
