Pulled this from the corner of a shuttered boarding house, tucked under a staircase and filled with scraps of wool. Built from pine planks, the surface has worn down to a dusty blonde, with darker lines where shoes once slid in and out.
It measures approximately 24 inches wide, 10 inches tall, and 14 inches deep. The front panel is slanted back, giving it a low profile while still offering easy access to the open compartment inside.
No hinges, no lid just a fixed box with an angled face and a shallow cutout handle at the top. The joints are all butt-fitted, held together by nails, some of which have worked their way slightly proud.
