Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing direct clinical services to adult clients and their families, including individual, group and family therapy. In collaboration with treatment team members, the Primary Therapist ensures quality of care provided to clients in detox, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment settings.

General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Manage a caseload of clients, as assigned
- Complete Biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans for assigned clients
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary treatment planning
- Formulate mutually agreed-upon, treatment goals and measurable objectives with clients
- Assist clients with aftercare and discharge planning
- Provide direct clinical services, including individual, group, and family therapy
- Case management services, including initiation of referrals when needed
- Collaborate with professionals both within and outside the agency, as appropriate
- Systematically gather data to determine the readiness of clients for treatment and change
- Consistently assess and screen clients throughout treatment for acute symptoms and behaviors
- Analyze and interpret data to determine treatment recommendations and priorities for clients
- Maintain timely, accurate and comprehensive documented client records meeting Department of Health Care - Services and Joint Commission standards
- Attend weekly team meetings
- Coordination of all treatment services needed for assigned clients
- Attend staff development, in-service and general staff meetings
- Facilitate assigned groups per treatment schedules
- Willing to work at different treatment facilities to ensure continuity of client care (2 in Malibu, 1 in West LA)
- Manage schedule to ensure clients at different treatment locations are seen at expected frequency
- Share responsibility for on-call emergency consultation and crisis intervention, including after-hours and weekend coverage
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences
- Abide by facility code of conduct and model values

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

- Pre-licensed therapists: MSW from an accredited school of social work, or MA in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or other related degree AND registered with the Board of Behavioral Services or Board of Psychology to conduct therapy
- Licensed therapists: MSW from an accredited school of social work, MA in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology other related degree AND current license (CA) to practice independently as an LCSW, LMFT or Licensed Clinical Psychologist
- Participate in continuing professional development
- Demonstrate adherence to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel
- Knowledge and experience working with addiction and co-occurring disorders desired
- Experience facilitating groups, including process-oriented and psychoeducational based groups
- Ability to maintain timely and accurate chart records and documentation
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers at all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel to different treatment locations in Malibu and West LA, per client and facility need
