JOB SUMMARY: Maintains, repairs and installs irrigation systems. Performs related duties as assigned.
MAJOR DUTIES:
• Maintains, adjusts and repairs irrigation systems using hand tools by laying, removing, replacing, or repairing pipes, valves, sprinkler heads and time clocks.
• Installs complete, irrigation systems as needed.
• Reads blueprints, uses probes and digs areas to locate, lay or repair irrigation lines.
• Locates, replaces and repairs low voltage underground irrigation wiring.
• Installs and troubleshoots low voltage lighting systems.
• Orders, stores and maintains parts, tools, supplies and equipment.
• Follows all applicable safety rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for cleanliness of company truck and the organization of it contents.
• Reports needed repairs of truck to supervisor.
• Responsible for written reports of work completed.
• Sensible routing of daily work
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Knowledge of:
• Irrigation systems, components, maintenance and repair.
• Plumbing and pipe fitting techniques.
• Hand and power tool use and operation.
• Basic mathematics. Ability to:
• Read blueprints
• Repair and troubleshoot irrigation systems
• Operate hand and power tools
• Respond to client's needs.
• Complete work in a timely manner. Skill in: ·, .
• Reading, writing and communication in English at an appropriate level.
Education, Training and Experience
• High school graduation or equivalent supplemented by related trade school or equivalent training.
• Two years of experience maintaining and repairing irrigation systems.
A landscape irrigation foreman should have all necessary knowledge of irrigation system installation and maintenance projects.
Responsibilities include:
• Perform system evaluations and recommendations
• Repair and troubleshoot irrigation system as required
• Able to lay out and install new irrigation systems
• Complete knowledge of controllers, programming and wire tracking
• Able to pinpoint problem valves and controllers
• Ability to effectively communicate and write reports to supervisors and operation manager
• Produce irrigation charts for all existing and future maintenance clients
