2001 BMW R1200C Phoenix (Independent Edition) – Rare BMW Cruiser in Pristine Condition
Overview of the R1200C Phoenix Edition
Meet the BMW R1200C Phoenix, a rare special-edition cruiser introduced in 2001. BMW built the R1200C series (1997–2004) as their venture into the cruiser market, famously even featuring it in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. The Phoenix, known as the “Independent” in Europe, was a unique one-year variant with exclusive features. It came from the factory as a single-seat cruiser (passenger seat and pegs were optional) adorned in a striking two-tone Mandarin Yellow and Graphite paint scheme. This model also received new cast-aluminum alloy wheels (replacing the standard spoked wheels), a small sporty windshield, twin halogen fog/driving lights, white-turn-signal lenses, and extra chrome details including a BMW roundel on the alternator cover. In short, the Phoenix edition is one of the hardest-to-find R1200C variants, offering all the head-turning style BMW’s cruiser is known for, with added exclusivity and flair.
This particular 2001 R1200C Phoenix is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. It has only 4k miles on the odometer (very low mileage for a 2001 bike) reflecting gentle use. The bike has never been dropped or laid down, and it shows: the paintwork and chrome are pristine, with no dents, scratches, or blemishes. It’s obvious that this motorcycle has been well cared for and always stored properly.
