We're currently a three-piece band (vox/rhythm guitar, bass, & lead guitar (me)). We have a very diverse set, but there's a general rock/blues/psychedelic theme going on. Floyd and The Doors are big influences.
We're still starting out and have been doing open mics (drummer-less) for now as we put together a full set. That's done and we're looking to book shows now, we'll need a drummer for those shows, and that's where you'd come in.
To prepare, we'd want to have you come by and go through a full rehearsal of the set, spending 2 hours or so. (Rehearsal spot is in the valley, Woodland Hills area.) Then the actual show would be 45m or so. And of course setup/teardown time. Although we have a compact electric drum kit you can use if you don't have/don't want to bring your own.
So right now I'm reaching out to drummers like yourself, wanting to build some connections for when the time comes. If you're interested, let me know. I can share some recordings of how we sound, and would love to hear any of your stuff.
My questions for you are:
1. Is the overall situation something you'd be interested in? That is, essentially being our 'hired gun' drummer for local live shows.
2. How much would you charge for rehearsing? (2 hours) And how much would you charge for playing a show? (1 hour)
And we're open to having you join as a full member of the band if everyone gels well. That would be great. But in my experience, good drummers are either A. In a successful band already or B. Only interested in session work.
We're in our 40's but project youthful vibes and put on a dynamic show. Lots of lights, lasers, and fog machines. You can be however old, as long as you bring the passion and energy onstage.
We rehearse every Sunday in the Woodland Hills area. Currently looking for a 2nd rehearsal spot for weeknights, located in Holllywood or Westside.
