A progressive, collaborative-focused, and inclusive mid-sized Santa Monica congregation (of 250+ vibrant members) seeks to add a proactive, detail-oriented, and friendly new staff member to support and complement both our small and curated Administrative and Communications Teams. A strong candidate must demonstrate a robust ability to juggle various office and communications-oriented tasks without sacrificing accuracy and enthusiasm and to do so quickly and efficiently.
Supervised by the Congregational Administrator whilst working closely with the Communications Chair, responsibilities meld a hybrid of office support and tech-savvy communications. On the Front Office end, expectations include managing typical admin tasks (front-facing email/phone needs, bank deposit, sorting mail, overseeing vendor relationships, ordering supplies, facility upkeep); Finance and Membership (data entry, digital maintenance, reports, outreach); Rentals (prepare agreements, coordination, tracking payments, marketing); and serving as an integral liaison between the office and our members. Communications-wise, work encompasses a thorough and fluid understanding of email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp); managing social media presence across platforms (Facebook, IG, LinkedIn); organizing internal/public Google calendars for event/room reservations; and WordPress, event calendar, page, and blog content updating and know-how.
For this position, we are currently extending part-time availability at $25 per hour for 15-16 hours each week. Not only are we amenable to a flexible schedule, but there is room for growth in the future - the end goal is to find an individual who is long-term minded and dedicated to improving our processes and offerings. If you are wired for efficiency, relish in constructing standards that benefit our intimate congregation, and desire to have a vested interest in developing your own role productively, we want to hear from you.
Kindly submit a resume to employment@uusm.org along with a cover letter briefly detailing how your career objectives align with this role and how choosing you would benefit our community.
