Objective: Decommission existing Velo network devices and replace them with a High Availability (HA) pair of Fortinet FG-40F firewalls, including remote configuration and cabling migration.
1. Remote Connectivity & Diagnostics
Initial Setup: Connected the console cable to the Fortigate unit and established a LAN connection from the field laptop to Fortigate Port 1.
Network Verification: Conducted a successful ping test to verify local communication. call for info
Remote Access Troubleshooting: * Initially established remote access for the engineering team using TeamViewer.
After approximately one hour, the TeamViewer session experienced freezing and cross-device connection errors.
Successfully pivoted the remote session to AnyDesk, establishing a stable connection for the remote technician.
