I have a fully furnished bedroom available on or around December 1st in my nice 3 bedroom/2 bathroom Santa Monica apartment. I can be flexible with the move-in date, though I would prefer as close to December 1st as possible. I enjoy learning about other cultures, so international travelers/visitors are preferred, though everyone will be considered. Male or female okay. Your rent will be $950 per month for one person or $1150 per month ($575 each) for two friends to share the room. No couples please. I ask a small $500 fully refundable security deposit for the room.
The bedroom is fully furnished with a queen bed and a second full size loft bed, so it can work for either one person or 2 friends. It also has a large dresser with mirror and spacious walk-in closet. Perfect for visitors to Santa Monica. Short terms of 1 to 3 months are fine, or longer terms may be considered, but I do prefer shorter terms as I enjoy meeting new people, especially from other cultures around the world. Month-to-month agreement, no long-term lease to sign. I pride myself on providing safe and friendly accommodations to visitors to Santa Monica. Please be friendly and social.
This is a nice room that I built in my living room with walls made out of Japanese Rice Paper Shoji Screens and ceiling-to-floor curtains for privacy ~ see photos above of the room and of many past roommates. I have attached several photos of past roommates from all over the world including Denmark, Russia, China, France, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Sweden, Moldova and many more.The sixth photo shows a recent roommate, Mohammed from Egypt, on the left. I (Jim) in the middle. And current roommate (he is in the 3rd bedroom), Douglas from Georgia, on the far right. You will share the apartment with Douglas and with me. You will share your bathroom only with Douglas. I have my own bathroom in my room. Also, as part of your room you will have a balcony with a nice view of a courtyard filled with fruit trees, as seen in the 1st photo.
All utilities & wifi included in rent ~ nothing extra to pay ~ just rent & security deposit.
You will have access to a fully furnished kitchen.
Safe and convenient location close to grocery stores, restaurants, the beach.
I am vegetarian. Please be willing to not eat or store any meat in the apartment.
I enjoy learning about other cultures ~ international visitors preferred but all considered.
Environmentally-minded household ~ we recycle and compost everything possible.
Please be neat, clean, no drugs, no smoking of any kind. Drinking of alcohol is okay.
