For anyone who loves arcade gaming, this cabinet is the real deal. It’s been with me for years and has always been the centerpiece of every hangout. The original monitor was replaced a while back, but the current CRT has been flawless and delivers that true arcade look.
Inside is a Windows PC running MAME with a smooth, easy-to-use frontend. Press the power button and it boots straight into the game menu, no keyboard required. Exiting a game is simple: hold both start buttons and tap Player 1’s A button.
The setup uses an Ultimarc ArcadeVGA card to output native-resolution visuals to the CRT, and an Ultimarc J-PAC handles the JAMMA connection. The cabinet wiring itself has never been cut or altered. The PC is mounted on a removable wooden board, so if you ever want to unplug the J-PAC and drop in an original game board, it’s a zero-stress swap.
I never hooked the PC into the cabinet’s speakers or marquee lighting (didn’t want to modify any wiring), but there’s a standalone speaker mounted on the same board as the PC. All cabinet doors have working locks with keys, the coin door functions using 100 yen coins, and a degausser is included.
Bonus: it comes with a pair of Saarinen-style stools that fit the cabinet perfectly and give it that clean retro-modern vibe. They’re surprisingly comfy and really complete the setup.
It’s a complete, well-kept collection that can run as-is or be easily converted back to a dedicated arcade board. Happy to answer questions or send additional photos.
